Jo Rigby Art
My art reflects the way I see the world: sometimes chaotic, sometimes ordered. Across my paintings, the unifying inspiration is colour: colour gives me pleasure and my paintings life.
I paint simply because I want to. The majority of my paintings speak for themselves, with no hidden message, but some do embody a narrative which I leave to the viewer to discern and interpret.

Still Life with an Orange Jug

A tissue paper collage of items in my home provided the basis for this colourful work. It is one of three on the same theme.
Varenna

At the commissioner’s request, this representation of a town on Lake Como is artificially bright. A much larger format than I am used to I found it quite a challenge.
